- Is your work in a sunrise phase (growing industry/ expanding project) or a sunset phase (shrinking industry/end-of-life project)?
- Is there trust between you and your manager?
This quadrant based approach can help you decide your next career move:
- Sunrise + have trust: you should stay in the team and work with your manager to grow together.
- Sunrise + lack trust: don't jump ship so quickly. Try to build trust with your manager and find a win-win path forward.
- Sunset + have trust: don't jump ship so quickly. Try to work with your manager and find a new growth direction for the team.
- Sunset + lack trust: you should look for a better opportunity.
